Ready-Mix Concrete Plants

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina Project Type: Structural design and computer analysis of structures for ready-mix concrete plant Client: Metromont Prestress Co.

Description:

VJA was responsible for the structural design and computer analysis of the steel structures for the ready-mix concrete plant. The project was design-built with Innoquip Systems acting as general contractor.

The structures support the cement silos and batching plant machines for a new facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition, VJA designed and analyzed four other similar batch plant structures for the design-build group to be built in the United States:

• Standard Concrete, Long Beach, CA
• High Concrete Structures, Denver, PA
• Cadman Inc. Sky River Plant, Seattle, WA
• West Des Moines Batch Plant, Des Moines, IA
