Location: Mashiter Creek, Squamish, British Columbia Project Type: Design of two span pre-stressed concrete highway bridge Client: Ministry of Transportation & Highways

Description:

Mashiter Creek is subject to periods of torrential run-off and timber debris accumulation. The bridge embankments, central pier, and pile footings were riprap protected against these conditions.

Being located in a high-risk seismic area, the steel reinforcement connections between the pre-stressed stringers and the abutments and pile cap were designed as ductile plastic hinges.
